Leo Grillo, a former actor and animal rights activist, is facing federal attempted kidnapping charges for allegedly attempting to pay a pal $100,000 to kidnap an immigrant ex employee, Adriana Duarte Valentines, after she won a $6.7 million lawsuit against him. The alleged plan was thwarted by the FBI, who provided a staged photo of Valentines and her husband bound and gagged. Grillo had previously founded animal sanctuary Dedication and Everlasting Love to Animals Rescue (DEL) near Los Angeles, which he claimed was the largest no-kill animal shelter in the US.
