Home ice, high stakes: UNF hockey club team takes flight at AAU hockey nationals in Jacksonville

The University of North Florida's ice hockey club, the Ospreys, is playing in the AAU National Championship Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida. The 17-team tournament is being hosted at the Community First Igloo on Philips Highway, the rink where UNF plays its home games. The team, which is fully funded by the players, has won 15 games this season, the most they've had since joining the AA U league three years ago. The Osprey team has won more games in 2026 than their first two seasons combined. The captain and president of the team, Jeremy Diaz, and coach A.J. Mangine, both feel the team's success was due to a change in team culture this year.
