Eddie Murphy received the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award at the Hollywood's Dolby Theater on Saturday night, receiving a two-hour tribute to his larger-than-life career spanning five decades. The ceremony was held at Hollywood's famous Dolby Theatre and included a who’s who of comedy heavyweights, studio heads, Oscar winners, filmmakers, actors and fans. Despite his modesty, Murphy remained upbeat and joked about his age at 65, still having recently welcomed his first grandson and his third granddaughter. The program included a selection of his greatest hits from 48 Hours to the recent Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F and nearly everything from Saturday Night Live to Shrek. The event will be broadcast on Netflix later.
