Candidates Red Sox could target as next manager after Alex Cora’s firing

The Red Sox has fired longtime manager Alex Cora and several of his coaching staff, less than a month into the season. However, Red Sox manager Craig Breslow has expressed interest in hiring a full-time manager before the end of the season, whether it would be in the offseason or within the organization. Here are two potential candidates for the position. Tracy, who has served as Worcester Red Sox boss since 2022, is considered one of the top up-and-coming managers in the sport and is familiar with most of the current Red Sox roster. David Ross, who was teammates with Craig Breshlow on the 2013 World Series championship club, was also considered a logical fit for the role. BresLow left to take the Red Sox chief baseball officer job only about two weeks before Ross was fired so the Cubs could sign Craig Counsell.
