The CME Lean Hog Index was $85.56 on September 9, down 18 cents from the previous day, and the FOB plant pork cutout value was $93.28 per cwt. The national average base hog price was not reported on Wednesday due to low volume. The USDA estimated that 484,000 head of FI hog slaughter will be accounted for at least 500,000 more than the previous week.
