Rams GM Les Snead after selecting Ty Simpson: Sean McVay and I are 'in lockstep' on draft decisions

The Los Angeles Rams have chosen to draft for the future of their player, Matthew Stafford, rather than potentially adding a rookie to a team with Super Bowl aspirations. The team's GM, Les Snead, stated that he and coach Sean McVay are in "lockstep" on draft decisions. The selection of Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall was surprising, as Stafford is coming off an MVP-winning season in 2026 and is essentially on a year-to-year basis stage of his career. Despite this, Snead insisted that the team's vision is to chase special together, however long it may be. The Rams have already addressed their most urgent need by acquiring cornerback Trent McDuffie in a trade with the Chiefs.
