San Diego Magazine's food therapy team has compiled a list of nine must-try meals from various San Diego restaurants. The list includes chef Katsuya Uechi, who invented one of the nation's favorite dishes at his Brentwood restaurant in 2006 and has since expanded into a global brand with restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, the Bahamas, Dubai, and now San Diego. Alforon was among the first restaurants in San Diego to bake traditional Lebanese flatbread, and chef-owner George Salameh perfected his manakish recipe. Mastro's is a seafaring offshoot of the steak brand, known for its seafood tower and live music.
