Indie publisher New Blood's CEO Dave Oshry and developer David Szymanski, both of whom are critical of DLSS 5 and Nvidia's gen AI graphics card tools, have shared their concerns with PC Gamer. They compared the situation to the rise and fall of NFTs and crypto, while Oshry suggested that using the phrase "Nvidia Generative Upscaling" would result in instant backlash. He also suggested that the more effective way to combat DLSS5 is "voting with our wallets" and "stop collaborating with them as developers." These comments were shared alongside a wishlist of more power and GPUs that should be cheaper while developers get less value. While these comments were strong, they also acknowledged that while elements like RTX and Path Tracing are expensive, they still make Cyberpunk 2077 look good.
