This comes after U.K. lawmakers rejected a proposal to include a social networking ban for teens in child welfare legislation. Online safety organizations Ofcom and the Information Commissioner's Office have urged social media companies to enforce stricter protection for children on their platforms. Ofcom has written to social platforms to report on their efforts to keep children off their platforms, with a deadline of April 30 for them to respond.
