Allbirds, a sustainable, eco-friendly shoe brand founded in 2015, has announced it is shifting its focus to artificial intelligence and will focus on buying GPUs. The move, which has seen a significant increase in stock prices, is seen as a high-risk move, with analysts suggesting it lacks the necessary expertise and capital to compete with established cloud industry leaders. The company will now be known as NewBird AI and will be renting out computing power to tech startups. This follows a recent sale of its intellectual property and assets to American Exchange Group for $39 million.
