The Dallas Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-2 in Game 2, tying the Western Conference first-round series. The Stars had opened the game 6-1, but struggled to protect Jake Oettinger, kill penalties and generate scoring chances. The team's adjustments, including the introduction of Arttu Hyry and the use of Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson, allowed them to turn crucial scoring chances into important goals. The adjustments were made by Dallas coach Glen Gulutzan, who also praised his penalty unit's discipline. The Wild's goal was eventually scored by Brock Faber with 8 minutes left.
