Nigherian gaming company, Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, has defended the company's DLSS 5 technology, stating that gamers are "completely wrong" about the technology. The technology has sparked controversy as it essentially applies a generative AI filter to computer graphics and fuses controllability of geometry and textures with AI. Despite this, Huang stated that all of the AI capabilities will be subject to developer control at the user level, not post-processing. His comments echo Apple's "Antennagate" controversy where users could potentially interfere with the phone's antennas and signal reception. The company's decision to introduce DLSS5 into a brief keynote address at the GTC conference in San Jose has been met with criticism, with some suggesting it applies a "skin" on top of the rendered game model. The system is expected to launch this fall.
