The Southern California News Group has compiled a questionnaire to select candidates for the 2026 primary election. The questions cover issues such as affordability, access to healthcare, and ending immigration abuses under President Donald Trump. Candidates also included questions about voter ID, war powers, immigration, and tariffs. The questionnaire was edited to remove any hint of hate speech or offensive language. The candidate for the CA-35 seat, Norma Torres, stated that immigration enforcement should be focused on dangerous individuals, not families, and that federal agencies should be accountable for their actions. She also stated that she opposed the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote and would disenfranchise millions.
