Denver's Elitch Gardens opened its 136th season on Saturday, despite chilly temperatures. The park was packed with patrons, including season pass holders and families with their children, who lined up for an hour and a half prior to the park's opening. Darren Brown, a season pass holder, was the first person in line, with his favorite ride being the Half Pipe. Other patrons included Tobey Green and Danielle Duenow, who drove from Laramie to attend the park’s opening weekend. Several festival-style events are planned for this summer, including a Taste of Elitch, a family-friendly food and drink festival with seven different cuisine zones, and two festivals planned for June and September.
