ICT Trees, a Wichita organization, is set to give away 100 trees to homeowners, churches, and businesses in April. The trees will be distributed to neighborhoods near urban heat islands, which are often more warm due to development outside of buildings and streets. The giveaway will take place at Emporia Park on April 11. The organization received a grant from Evergy to help plant more trees in the city.
