16-year-old charged as adult in connection with armed robbery in Homestead

Luis Torres, a 16-year-old boy from Homestead, Florida, has been charged as an adult in connection with an armed robbery in March 2. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Northwest 11th Street and occurred when the victim reported his motorized dirt bike had been stolen in an unrelated incident. Two suspects, identified as Torres and another named as "Sebastian," allegedly conspired to steal the victim's belongings while they assaulted him. The stolen items included a black iPhone 12, clothing, a gold bracelet, and a gold chain. After the robbery, Torres posted a video on his Instagram page discussing the robbery while wearing the victim’s jewelry and describing it as “that”s (what) happens when you set n***** up,” the report stated.
