The Mormon Meteor, the car that set a land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats, is returning to public view at the new Museum of Utah at the State Capitol complex. The car was driven by Ab Jenkins, who set several land speed records at the time. Jenkins, now mayor of Salt Lake City, was known for his hard work and risk-taking, and for his dedication to preserving the history of the car. After retiring his original vehicle, the Mormon Meteor was displayed at the Utah State Capitol Building and returned to the state.
