The New Yorker has published an article questioning the trustworthiness of OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, regarding his ability to implement policies to ensure that AI benefits humanity if superintelligence is achieved. The article also revealed that while OpenAI plans to keep people first in the future, it also acknowledges risks of extreme AI systems evading human control or governments using AI to undermine democracy. The New Yorker interviewed over 100 people familiar with Altman's business practices and reviewed internal memos to illustrate the mistrust between the two parties.
