Rhode Island Joins Coalition Challenging HUD's Attack On Fair Housing Laws: AG

Rhode Island has joined a coalition of states in filing a lawsuit challenging the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for unlawful actions by the agency, including threats to withhold funding from state and local fair housing enforcement agencies for compliance with state laws and impose illegal conditions on HUD funding. Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha accused the Department's Department of HUD of being consistent in its attempts to make life harder for many Americans. The coalition includes attorneys general from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia.
