Denver power trio, Shepherd, have been playing together since 2019 and aim to "crush as many peoples' eardrums as possible" through their music. The band members, Holden Sims, Austin Garrett and Nathan Bilodeau, originally wanted an ambiguous moniker to avoid pigeonholing. Since 2019, their music has been a blend of sludgy post-metal stoner doom, synthesized most recently on Shepherd's self-titled debut. The new single "Headless Horse" includes a spastic root riff and four-minute distorted desert doom. While there are plans for an EP within the next year, the band is already sharing its latest live.
