Former Texas basketball assistant takes head coaching job

Nevada Smith has been appointed as the head coach of Siena, replacing Gerry McNamara who left to become coach at Syracuse. Smith previously worked with Shaka Smart's staff at Marquette and served as head coach for two G League teams. He joins the Saints after a successful two-year stint at Texas. The move comes less than two weeks after Sienia's strong performance in the NCAA tournament.
