The conflict in Iran has caused massive gas price hikes across the country, with Ohio experiencing one of the largest average price jumps in the country. AAA spokesperson Morgan Dean explained that instability in Iran causes global market prices to increase due to Iran's oil production disruptions and halted the transportation of crude oil from the Strait of Hormuz. The White House is monitoring the situation closely and plans to escort oil tankers through the Strait if necessary. Additionally, White House press secretary Karoline Leavishly stated that the United States Navy will assist if necessary in escorting the ships through the strait.
