NES ratepayers have funded over $147,000 in order to provide 24-hour security for NES CEO Teresa Aplin-Broyles and COO Brent Baker at their homes and at NES headquarters until 2026. The security costs come as NES leadership faces scrutiny over its response to a recent ice storm that left tens of thousands without power for over a week. The contract for security for the CEO and CO ends at the end of this month. NES also revealed that 13 threats have been made against leadership, with 9 under investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department. The company's PR firm detailed threats the company has received, including at least 13 credible threats made to Aplin Broyles. The additional security costs for Aplin broyles' and Baker's residences are $88 an hour, 24 hours a day at her Nashville home.
