Central Indiana is facing a cold snap for St. Patrick's Day, with temperatures expected to remain below average for the holiday, potentially being one of the coldest St.Patrick's Days in history. Despite a few lingering snow showers moving across Central Indiana early this morning, these will gradually end by mid-morning. However, temperatures will rebound into the 40s and possibly even the low 50s, which will rapidly melt any accumulated snow during the early morning hours of the day. A weak system will move in from the north and west late tonight through Wednesday morning, bringing light snow showers to the area, leading to a potentially slippery Wednesday morning commute. The rapid warm-up is expected later this week, with high temperatures predicted to reach around 60° and potentially reach the upper 60s and lower 70s.
