The San Diego Chronicle offers a look at the latest in dining news from across San Diego County, including Pi Day pizza, beer festivals, and St. Patrick's Day deals. North Italia is celebrating Pi Day with two new pizzas, the chicken al pastor and Nashville hot chicken pizza, which will cost $23 and $20 during happy hour. Pop Pie Co. is highlighting three guest chefs for Pi Day, offering pies from chefs Tara Monsod, Rob Striker, The Friendly and Matt Lyons. Bay City Brewing is hosting its eighth annual Pucks and Pints, a beer festival and charity event featuring beer tastings and food from Phil's BBQ. Ballast Point Little Italy is hosting a craft-beer and visual-art showcase at Ballast point Little Italy, featuring 10 hand-selected San Diego breweries. The Art of Beer is a festival focused on beer, craftsmanship and culture, and proceeds from the event go towards several San Diego nonprofits. The first 20 customers on Saturday will receive a complimentary slice of sweet pie from Pop Pie. The Taste of Third Avenue will be held at downtown Chula Vista.
