Editorial: House GOP rallies behind DiZoglio to audit Legislature
Published on April 22, 2026.
The Massachusetts House Republican caucus has rallied behind State Auditor Diana DiZoglio's efforts to audit the state legislature, arguing that the Supreme Judicial Court should not "arbitrarily" deprive DiZogoglio of access to representation and accused Attorney General Andrea Campbell of trapping the auditor in a procedural dead end. The House GOP caucus, consisting of 25 lawmakers out of 160, argued that state law does not give the AG enough power to prevent DiZoggio from vindicating her statutory duties. The support of the House GOP is encouraging, with a hearing set for May 6 on whether the court should approve Campbell's motion to review the audit law. The deadline to submit a brief to the SJC is today, with the deadline for the filing is today.
