McCarthy's Charlie vibes have Rox thinking they found their leadoff answer

The Colorado Rockies are second in the Majors in extra-base hits (363), third in slugging, fourth in batting average (256), fifth in OPS (747), and sixth in runs scored (554). The Rockies' last leadoff threat, Charlie Blackmon, is Jake McCarthy, who has been likened to Blackmon. McCarthy's performance has been seen as a signal that the front office believes the team's strong offense is in place. The only trade concern was the loss of center fielder Brenton Doyle to the White Sox for two prospects, but the Rockies signed outfielder Mickey Moniak to a two-year, $2.5 million contract extension. McCarthy, a 29-year-old who has a speed game for reaching base and gap power, is batting.293 while carrying an.823 OPS.
