Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin won a World Cup slalom on Tuesday, her ninth in 10 World Cup starts this season, beating Wendy Holdener by 1.32 seconds. This victory earned 100 points in the overall standings, but Aicher's third place place kept Shiffin's lead below 100 points. Shiffr will start the season-ending final race on Wednesday with an 85-point lead. Aichers must win to prevent Shiffrid from claiming a women's record-tying sixth overall title.
