McDonald's is reportedly ending free refills and replacing do-it-yourself soda fountains at all locations by 2032. This move is part of a broader effort by the fast-food giant to modernize its restaurants and adapt to changing consumer habits, which increasingly favor takeout, delivery, and drive-thru service over dining in. The decision comes as 40 percent of McDonald's domestic sales now stem from digital orders, reducing demand for dining room soda machines. The company also plans to expand its beverage menu with a line of fruit-flavored refreshers and "dirty sodas".
