Sandy man accused of assaulting elderly neighbor who asked him to stop revving motorcycle engine

Phillip Michael Clevenger, a 27-year-old motorcyclist from Sandy, has been charged with intentionally or knowing aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult and interfering with a peace officer. The assault occurred on March 23 after a 76-year old man asked him to stop revving his motorcycle engine at 1 a.m. He allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and hit him several times in the face. The victim was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries, including fractures and multiple skin tears. Clevenig, who denied the allegations, admitted to the altercation but claimed that he was just walking with the motorcycle when it was loud.
