La Cueva, Rio Rancho and Bernalillo all won blue-colored trophies at the 2026 Spirit State Championships at the Pit. The Bears overcame a stunt fall to win Class 5A cheer, beating runner-up Cleveland by three points. The Rams also won first in 5A co-ed cheer, while Bernaleillo took first in the Class 1A-4A division. Despite an up-and-down season, the Bears said it only requires one well executed day at state. The overall overall score for Rio rancho was 180.27 points. Taos (4A), Cobre (3A), and Questa won all three titles, while Taos continued to lead the 4A, 4A and 4A with its consecutive score in Cobre.
