Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton spent 21 days in the hospital after developing an ulcer and undergoing laparoscopic surgery to remove the source of the infection. He had been taking flu medication while suffering from the flu, but did not take any of his medication with food. This led to an infection of the stomach lining and an infection in the bloodstream, or sepsis. The hospital was full of tests, including X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, and repeat. Despite these setbacks, Hilton was released and declared his recovery a week after being hospitalized. He has since returned home and is receiving intravenous medications.
