Illinois basketball coach Brad Underwood has led the team to the Final Four for the first time since 2005, breaking a 21-year drought with a 71-59 victory over Iowa. The victory secured a spot in next weekend's Final Four. The team's success was achieved through a mix of old methods, new concepts and a dash of European flavor. Underwood and his staff are using European connections and transfer portal to adapt to modern college basketball, while remaining true to traditional methods of roster building and player development. They are currently two wins away from the school's first-ever national championship. Keaton Wagler, who scored 25 points in the win against Iowa, was named the South Regional's Most Outstanding Player and was named All-Big Ten and All-American and Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
