Federal disaster aid approved for Oregon counties hit by December winter storms

The federal government has approved a major disaster declaration for Oregon, allowing for additional assistance following a period of severe winter weather that occurred from December 15-21,1919. The funds will be distributed on a cost-sharing basis to state, tribal and eligible local governments, and certain private nonprofit organizations. The funding can be used for emergency work and for the repair and replacement of damaged facilities.
