Disgraced actor John Alford, known as John Shannon, has died in prison two months after he was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison for sexually assaulting two teenage girls. The actor, who starred in the British kids' series Grange Hill and the firefighter drama London's Burning, was found dead at HMP Bure in Norfolk, England, on March 13. Alford was convicted of buying a bottle of vodka for the girls, which he then sexually assaulted. He denied the crimes, claiming the allegations were a setup and there was no DNA evidence to support the assault claims.
