Bravi Glanville, a Bravo personality, has been accused of using a controversial congestion-clearing method recommended by her other son, 22. The method involves placing garlic cloves in the nose, but this method failed to clear the nasal lining. Despite this, there is no evidence that this method can actually treat sinus congestion. Dr. Madeleine Herman, physician president at the Sinus Center & ENT Specialists of Houston, warned that foreign bodies in the ear canal can cause infections or worse, and could damage the ear drum perforations or bones that allow you to hear. However, Dr. Ryan Salvador, an ENT Surgeon at Sinus & Snoring Specialists, acknowledged that garlic can be used to relieve sinus pressure, but there is little evidence to show it would be effective.
