Houston Cougars QB Conner Weigman named to Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List

University of Houston starting quarterback Conner Weigman has been named to the Maxwell Award Pre-season Watch List. Weigmen, who accounted for 36 total touchdowns in his first season at Houston, led the Big 12 and was seventh-most nationally. His 3,405 yards of offense were the most since 2021 and 12th most since 1996, while his 700 rushing yards were the second most by a Houston QB since 1996. He is one of 15 Big 12 Conference selections to the Preseason Watchlist and one of 10 returning Big 12 student-athletes (non-transfers) to be selected.
