A long-standing dry weather pattern has resulted in an unusually low number of severe storms in the Midstate, with only three tornadoes reported so far this year. The most severe storms are expected to occur between mid-March and mid-November. However, there are still potential severe weather events. The states with the most severe weather are Alabama, Illinois, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Virginia.
