Yorkie Recovering After Gator Attack In Englewood

Yorkie Zoey was attacked by an alligator in Englewood, Florida, causing her four broken ribs, both lungs collapsed, and some serious wounds. She was rushed to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Port Charlotte for emergency care and underwent surgery at the Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch, where doctors removed a third of one lobe of her lungs and repaired the broken ribs and wounds on her back. Despite her recovery, Zoey is expected to be in for a long recovery, with her recovery expected to take anywhere from six to eight weeks. A GoFundMe fundraiser for Zoey's medical costs has raised nearly $800.
