The X-59, a quiet supersonic research aircraft, has made its highest and fastest flights so far, expanding its operational range and making progress towards supersic flight. The transition to flying with wheels is a crucial milestone in the experimental aircraft's test campaign. Future flights will focus on performance of its controls, propulsion systems, and subsystems such as hydraulics, fuel, avionics, and landing gear. The X-11 will also be monitored by the eXternal Vision System, which replaces the traditional forward windscreen.
