Saudi Arabia's Electronic Gaming Development Company (EGDC) has reportedly acquired a 5.03% stake in Japanese video game publisher Capcom, raising the kingdom's ownership in the company to 10%. The acquisition is being reported by Japanese game industry website Gamebiz. The move is part of a larger effort by EGDC, a subsidiary of the Misk Foundation, established by the Saudi Crown Prince of the same name. This move follows Saudi Arabia's purchase of 5% of Capcom's shares and an undisclosed stake in Tokyo-based gaming publisher Nexon in 2012.
