How Mexican Rodeo Film ‘Jaripeo’ Visualizes the “Queer Subconscious” and “Hidden Desire”

The film "Jaripeo," which explores the "Queer Subconscious" and "Hidden Desire" of Mexican rodeo shows, is currently being shown at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, CPH:DOX. Co-directors Efraín Mojica and Rebecca Zweig created the film using cinema vérité, Super 8 footage, and stylized scenes to depict machismo and queerness. The film premiered at Sundance and is set to screen at the 23rd edition of the CPH.
