The Republican primary runoff in Texas' Senate race will continue as President Donald Trump considers backing Sen. John Cornyn or state Attorney General Ken Paxton. The deadline for a candidate to withdraw from the race passed on Tuesday, making the remaining candidate the party's nominee. So far, neither Cornyn nor Paxton have withdrawn. The president has tied his endorsement to the fate of a bill overhauling the country's voting laws, the SAVE America Act, which he believes will secure voting in the country. Paxton has suggested he might drop out of the race if Senate leadership agrees to waive the 60-vote threshold to end debate on legislation and pass this bill.
