The 1990s saw significant growth in Cleveland, with the opening of Tower City at Terminal Tower in 1990 and Key Tower in 1991. The Gateway Complex, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Great Lakes Science Center also opened. Meanwhile, neighborhoods like Ohio City, Tremont, Warehouse District and the Flats thrived. The Rock Hall cemented Cleveland as a music hotbed, while smaller clubs hosted legendary acts like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Eminem and Green Day. However, the decade ended with the departure of the Cleveland Browns, which were reborn in 1999 as an expansion team.
