The Comeback Live and The Return, BTS' first performance since their hiatus due to mandatory military service, have been revealed to be rooted in Korean history. The group performed at Gwanghwamun Square, a symbolically important space in Korea where King Tae-jo moved the capital for the Joseon empire to Hanyang (known as Seoul), built Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1394. The performance was performed in a one-hour show that melded tracks from BTS’s album Aririens, including “Swim to Body” and “Like Animals,” with older hits. The event was watched in person by roughly 22,000 fans and could be heard from more than a mile away from the open-air Science Science Center.
