Craig Melvin is expected to be absent from the Today show this week, starting on April 13. His co-host Savannah Guthrie shared that he is taking a "well-deserved" break after "holding it down here" for some time. The Today desk has been rotating anchors since Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her Arizona home in early 2026. Hoda Kotb, Sheinelle Jones and Laura Jarrett have been filling in for Guthrie during her absence. Melvin confirmed he won't watch TV during his vacation and will return to Today on April 20, 2026, according to the show's website.
