Giants get first homer of season, edge Padres for first win

The San Francisco Giants won their first major league game of the season against the San Diego Padres, defeating them 3-2. Harrison Bader and Landen Roupp scored the winning runs, while Roupp allowed only two hits and two walks while striking out seven. Ryan Walker saved the game with a game-ending groundout from Xander Bogaerts. This victory for manager Tony Vitello marks the first time the Giants have won against the Padres. The Padres have scored just nine runs in their first four games, three of which were losses.
