Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Angelina Lopez-Jimenez, a mother from Sacramento, at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday night. The arrest is unrelated to the Trump administration's deployment of ICE agents to assist the Transportation Security Administration. The Department of Homeland Security stated that Lopez-Maria, originally from Guatemala, was under a removal order in 2019 and resisted officers as they took her to the international terminal for processing. Advocacy group NorCal Resist is working to connect her family with support and resources. The group has not shared any further details about the arrest. The deportation of Lopez-Madrid is also being sought by Congresswoman Doris Matsui, who is demanding answers about the incident.
