‘Horrifying:’ Portland man who stabbed roommate 10 times after not paying rent sentenced

A Portland man, Larry Garcia, has been sentenced to just under nine years in prison for attacking his roommate 10 times after an argument about not paying his share of expenses. The victim was seriously injured and taken to the hospital where the Trauma Team at OHSU saved his life. Garcia was taken into custody in April 2025.
