Cowboy Country Music Is Hot Again, and Josh Weathers Knows It

Josh Weathers, a musician from north Texas, has had a successful year, with his first studio album since 2019 and a shift from traditional country music to contemporary country music. His release of Neon Never Fades, a collection of 11 hard country tracks, was seen as a significant shift from his roots and leans towards traditional American roots. Despite not releasing a studio album for several years, Weathers managed to land a deal with Sea Gayle Music, the Nashville publishing house founded by songwriter Chris DuBois. His collaboration with songwriters and songwriters led to his success in live performance and earning him Texas entertainer of the year at the annual Texas Country Music Awards. His song "Who's Hanging the Moon?" was the most-played Texas country song of 2025 according to the Texas Regional Radio Report charts.
